WHAT HAPPENED TO MAY?

It seemed as though May flew right on by. It’s hard to believe that our Spring Season is almost over and that summer is right around the corner. We have had a lot to be thankful for, here at SOAR, over the last month. We have also had a lot to bring to The Lord in prayer. I’d like to provide a “recap” of the last month.

Because it rained so much, which caused us to cancel games and practices, we decided to make the games up during the week. We scheduled what we were calling our Makeup Game Week. With the number of games we had to make up, there were some challenges to overcome. I would like to thank all of our coaches and referees for helping us play these makeup games. Thank you for your flexibility and willingness to make this work.

MEMORIAL DAY

We are so grateful for the men and women who have died fighting for our freedom. In a way, them losing their lives has given us ours. Thank you.

PLAYOFFS

This weekend will be packed with excitement, competition, winning, losing, joy, sadness, celebration, etc. This weekend is the Spring Season 2011 Playoff Weekend. Let me put this into perspective…

Soccer League
- 40 teams
- 33 games

Baseball League
- 12 teams
- 9 games

Volleyball League
- 8 teams
- 6 games

Click here to view the league standings, then click here to view the brackets. When you throw in 4 different locations that all these games will be taking place, as well as the divisions that are not involved in a playoff tournament but yet still will play their games/sessions, you can see how complicated it can be to schedule all of this. However, I must say that the staff at SOAR (Jenny, Chris, and Joy) have truly done a phenomenal job this season. They are a big reason as to why this playoff weekend will be so great.

SUMMER CAMPS

With summer right around the corner, I hope you will consider making SOAR Sports a part of your summer plans! We are offering four different camps this summer; Multi-sports Camp, Flag Football Camp, Soccer Camp, and Basketball Camp. These camps will be exciting and fun! For more details and registration information, click here. Don’t wait…register now!

SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUES

This summer, we will have our men’s basketball league as well as our women’s basketball league. We are very excited about continuing with the CBA (Covenant Basketball Association) and are especially excited for the start of the WCBA (Women’s Covenant Basketball Association). For all the details and registration info for the CBA, click here. For all the details and registration info for the WCBA, click here.
